A Family Portrait Session at the Stunning Stevens-Coolidge
The beauty of golden hour at North Andover’s most scenic location
The Stevens-Coolidge House & Gardens is one of those rare places where history, nature, and family connection seem to come together effortlessly. Each time I have a photo session here it feels like stepping into a storybook—and this session was no exception. Between the historic architecture, winding garden paths, and ever-changing seasonal blooms, every corner offers a beautiful backdrop for your photos.
We scheduled this session during golden hour, when the sunlight is at its most flattering (don’t listen to the cool kids, golden hour is TIMELESS.) Plus, children immediately see the magic of this place—wide open spaces, butterflies, bunnies, several ridiculously beautiful gardens, and sunlit hills to run up and down. It helps create the perfect setting to encourage a combination of playful candids and timeless portraits. Yes, yes, and yes.
If you’re looking for a location that blends classic historic New England charm with natural beauty, the Stevens-Coolidge is it. It’s a dream setting for families who want portraits that feel both relaxed and elegant, and the photo permit fee is well worth the care that goes into the grounds ($50 weekday/$100 weekend).
